Dear Mulberry Families,

Welcome to another exciting new school year at Mulberry School!  All of us at Mulberry want to make this a successful year for your child.  Your active support and cooperation, combined with our best professional efforts, will ensure success for your child.  The goal of our school is to provide each student with a challenging and rigorous curriculum appropriate to his/her academic level.  We believe every child can achieve academic success.  To this end, every child will be provided with quality instructional experiences, which recognize, support, and maintain high expectations for all students.

Tuesday, August 16th is the first day of school. Like every Tuesday during the year, it is an early release day. Grades 1-5 will dismiss at 1:35 Tuesday only. Kinder will dismiss at 11:45 all week. Regular release times for TK at 11:35 and Preschool at 12:30. Regular dismissal on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is 2:35 for grades 1-5 and 2:20 for kinder.

Parents may walk students onto campus the first day of school. On the second day and on, you may drop children off at the front Mulberry or Gunn gate. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of students. Your child’s teacher will be added to the AERIES Parent Portal on Friday, August 12th at 5:00 pm. In order to maintain balanced classes, class changes are not permitted.

Just a reminder, consistent school attendance and punctuality is essential for your child’s success in school. Attendance and tardy problems hinder your child’s progress. If your child is absent, please call the school office or write a note explaining the reason for the absence within 2 weeks of the absence. School is in session starting at 8:10.

Traffic is extra heavy the first few weeks of school. Please come early to get a parking spot, walk in the mornings, and for dismissal, come by about 10 minutes after the bell rings to avoid traffic in the afternoons. Remember that everyone has students to drop off and pick up- over 500 students attend Mulberry! Grades PreK-2nd are dismissed in the front Mulberry Drive and grades 3-5 and SH classes are dismissed at the side Gunn gate. Please do not leave vehicles unattended in the drive-up lanes and be courteous to other parents. The school cannot help you get out of traffic citations when given, please follow traffic rules. Thank you for your patience and the consideration of safety for all of our little ones.

Once again, welcome back to Mulberry School.  The staff and I look forward to working with you this year.  Please keep in mind that PARENTS ARE A VITAL part of the educational process.  We cannot be successful without your help and support.  If at any time during the year you have a question regarding your child’s program, please give the school a call. We’re looking forward to another outstanding year!

Sincerely,

Ms.  Salamanca
