Welcome to another exciting new school year at Mulberry School. All of us at Mulberry want to make this a successful year for your child. Your active support and cooperation, combined with our best professional efforts, will ensure success for your child. The goal of our school is to provide each student with a challenging and rigorous curriculum appropriate to his/her academic level. We believe every child can achieve academic success. To this end, every child will be provided with quality instructional experiences, which recognize, support, and maintain high expectations for all students.
School begins this year on Wednesday, August 12th. Our schedule for the 2015/2016 school year is as follows:
Transitional Kindergarten 8:15 - 11:35 Mon- Fri
Grades K – 3 8:15 - 2:30 and every Tuesday 1:30 dismissal
Grades 4 and 5 8:10 - 2:30 and every Tuesday 1:30 dismissal
Classroom assignments will be posted at the front of the school on Tuesday, August 11th after 5:00 pm. In order to maximize balanced classes, no switching or teacher requests are permitted.
Just a reminder, consistent school attendance and punctuality is essential for your child’s success in school. Attendance and tardy problems hinder your child’s progress and teach them that school is not important. If your child is absent, please call the school office or write a note explaining the reason for the absence. Please note: excessive absences and/or tardies will trigger district attorney involvement.
Parents may walk their child to the class line the first 3 days of school only. Starting Monday, August 17th, we ask parents to drop children off at the gate and not walk them onto the school grounds. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of students. Please remember that whenever you visit during school hours, you need teacher approval first. Then you must report to the office, sign in, wear a sticker and report directly to and from your child’s classroom. Visiting other areas or wandering the campus is not permitted. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated!
Lastly, please remember that traffic is extra heavy the first few weeks of school. Come early to get a parking spot, walk in the mornings, and come by about 10 minutes after the bell rings to avoid traffic in the afternoons. Remember that everyone has students to drop off and pick up- over 600 students attend Mulberry! Do not leave vehicles unattended in the drive up lanes and be courteous to other parents. The school cannot help you get out of traffic citations when given, please follow traffic rules. Thank you for your patience and the consideration of safety for all of our little ones.
Once again, welcome back to Mulberry School. The staff and I look forward to working with you this year. Please keep in mind that PARENTS ARE A VITAL part of the educational process. We cannot be successful without your help and support. If at any time during the year you have a concern or a recommendation regarding your child’s program, please give the school a call. We’re looking forward to another outstanding year!
